So yesterday's yesterday was a trick huh? at least I felt better then.
This June Holidays have really been a brainwashing one for me. Having multiple urges and spouts of enthusiasm in me, I totally felt that my entire Secondary School life revolved around NPCC. Now that the results have come out, and knowing that I'm not taking up a huge role, I feel quite relieved. For once, a good decision was made even if it wasn't the wanted one.
Initially, I was quite excited being the Secondary 4 Squad NCO, that I could actually organise fun squad outings and really attend and enjoy them. Now receiving the new news of me becoming the Secondary 1 NCO, it isn't too bad either, although we all must agree that this could be one of the hardest jobs ever.
Being a fresh newcomer, the seniors would really have a tough time to convince us to become optimistic about our new school and NCO. Same applies to my role. First goal, get them excited about NPCC, 2nd, enjoy the company of their squadmates, 3rd, love us NCOs and the unit. I guess I'll just dao the POP presents then.
Secondly, Operations Department Deputy Head. Originally not what I expected, but hey, after all there are much better people out there than me. This is the actual role that relieves me alot. Not to say that it's slack or anything, I'll probably still get a handful of duties, but now's the time for me to really buck up in my studies.
I would like to share with you my term 2 MSG: 3.40. sucky. parents disappointed. me disappointed. The time to face reality has come. I'll have to show my courageous side if I'm going to show the world what I'm capable of.
Oh! and I can't wait for November's Japan trip for AEP!

Sad Life
My mood is currently fluctuating. My heart is broken. My eyes are swelling and my tears are falling down.
The miseries of the life I lead are taking their toll. Nothing is going right for me.
Even the sky wants a duel with me. Unhappy or sad with me, it has flushed me down with its tears that has lasted for the entire day.
Shall anything go better? I do not know. Now's the time to sit back and retreat, there is no point in going all out. As I continue to look upon the computer screen, and listen to my music, in actual fact I'm not really concentrating right now.
Some decisions made can never be taken back again. Wise decisions that have pointed out the forest for the trees, I have missed out. How I wish I could turn back time. So what now? Nothing else but to regret.
After this last post with you all, from the next post onwards, this blog will be made private. No one is welcome. Let my sorrow break me down right now.

Unit Camp Part II and Kayaking Day 1
To continue off my previous post on Unit Camp, I think I stopped at the start of Day Two.
Ok, so after the morning exercise, my group got to eat our first meal of a american continental breakfast, survival style. Feeling Rather contented and happy, we headed off to our first activity of the day - Team Flag Match. And I can tell you, even if we won, and lost less than half of the matches, I was really not happy.
Hah, call ourselves gentleman with great sportsmanship. I beg to differ. The game was as rough as martial combat. Some even equipped themselves with their so called self-defense to intimidate their opponents. Unfair and unjust, our team went about the legal way, and still managed to grab a reasonable number of points from capturing the flags.
Suggestions? Plenty. Team Flag Match, the name originates from two teams, holding rifles/secondary weapons ready for real combat. What? Socks and scratching, definitely not a very good way for a game that requires fighting. At least, there should have been something like LaserTag. Nah, too expensive.
Anyway, after lunch, finally this mass activity ended, and we proceeded on to another stressful and vexing game. Honor At Stake. But despite all odds, we pwned it.
Table tennis: Won 5 games to 1.
Dodgeball: Lost by a small margin of 15 seconds.
Rugby: Best teamwork award, even though i feel apologetic to some of my teammates. Owned it, cuz all the 15 goals were scored by us.
Captain Frisbee: Won yet again, even though the frisbee, cut my finger, mainly becuz someone stepped on the frisbee, which in turn, crushed my finger. And I can once again say, my team is full of talents. Sec2s were confident and ready to catch the frisbee to throw again immediately. Sec1s were good defenders, not allowing the opponent to even get their hands on the frisbee. Sec3s were good with their throwing.
Hmm, I guess Frisbee is a nice sport and for the next squad outing, just play it whole day long.
Lastly, the day ended with a last major game called Kidnapped - not as major as it seemed. Initially I thought it was all teams challenging all teams, where 2 teams allied against the rest. But it ended up 2 teams given one location, and made as opponents. But heng.. got Jonas as our station master, at least he didn't random attack our wristbands.
Our locations were good- maybe? But for the defenders(Me and Marcus), our hiding locations were even better, did you all even noe about this secret low-top room, that has a small window peeking out on the grass outside. Located at Block A.
Never mind, lastly the DAY ended with an ultra-sound activity, hosted by Marcus Goh sir. Although he was Zi-Owning, he did make the show entertaining. So, the activity is called Show of Power, where each team comes up with a group war performance and cheer.
With much preparation and teamwork, our team managed to get our act together, finally emerging as champions. So just how did it happen? I-being known as the "dancer", danced my way, using my dance moves as force fields and attacks that instantly kill enemies at sight. But this wouldn't have happened if I didn't migrate from my mini-island of wankapore from URA, to city of annabelldom in Unit Camp. Haha!
Many other teams did also show their power, but no match for us. Close competitors such as Hero warriors, where each superhero did some random move but still got paralysed by this almighty RoboSpastic--something. So twine used as Spiderman's attack? Not bad... ..........
Lastly, at the middle of the night, a Secondary 3 Cadet-Leaders-To-Be activity was held. But I guess I shan't talk much about that. Dinner was cool, packet dinner again. And another meal cheer, lead by me and the other buddies. Lunch was cooler, Maggi Mee Goreng- Ultra Spicy flavor, without soup. Imagine my burning lips redhot, it will be seen as me being momentarily passionate and hot.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now onto today's activities. Secondary 3 Kayaking LEAP. It's quite late so I shall just breeze through. Capsizing was really the main highlight of today's itinerary. Best was, with a skirt, that attached ourselves to the frame of the kayak so as to prevent water from entering our cockpit.
Rescue drills was horrible, but only because I was unable to master capsizing. After many rounds and rounds of practice, I finally got it, and proved my worth in front of the instructor. That whatever Eskimo rescue drill, which required momentum to flip myself over, from an overturned capsized position, and then grab onto the bile of another kayak, finally ending off with a small push to get myself back upright, really required skill and practice. And congratulate me, I finally did it.
So the day ended off, tired and sore, awaiting yet another tiring day of advanced drills, survival cooking, lamp lighting and topography. Sleeping soon, now's the time to mug, so make it worth. Ok, shan't say more, listen to the song below to summarise my mood today.!.

FIFA World Cup 2010 Group B Qualifiers
Once again, the team that I have put my trust in has not made me lose faith in them.
Playing with extreme determination and courage, they have managed to overcome the opponents of more brawns, and finally score an outstanding victory of 2-0.
Being the much better side, nonetheless, possession of the ball to Korea was imminent. Even if they have lost the ball, they intercept it immediately and make known to their opponents that that ball is theirs for this game.
7th minute - A corner was taken really early in the game. No one was expecting anything as it had been a rough start for both teams. However, with just the right curve and elevation, it had landed the ball to an open player, who could easily slot in the ball right into the net, with the keeper totally unaware.
52 minute - Park Ji Sung, what else could I say? A man of excellent quality, poise and attitude. Once the ball got to him, after an easy inteception, he got pass 1, no, 2 opponents, and finally aiming the ball to the opposite direction the keeper was saving at. A solo effort, which for most people can't do, he did it with ease, he pwned it.
More updates coming up, as we watch the Nigeria - Argentina match. These two teams, with more aggression and power than S.Korea and Greece, we can expect to see more action and more importantly, Goals.
Watch out, kids, this is a real man's sport.
Update on 10.06PM:
You see, as I have predicted. Wonderful header from a corner and Argentina are now 1-0 up, with the lead theirs.!
Half time. No movement from either side, match play looking dull. Hoping to see some reenergised players on the pitch on the second half.

Unit Camp 2010 Reflections
Let us take this time to make ourselves comfortable while we reflect on the experiences we faced in recent times. Why am I writing in a blog then? Because I'm convinced that by writing down my thoughts, I'll be able to do better in essays.
Yet another milestone has passed, and will always be remembered in our hearts. The greatest event of the June Holidays - the Unit Camp has successfully managed to blow the hearts of our cadets and at the same time, create an intimate bonding between us yet again.
DAY 1
0700 hrs. Earliest time to reach school yet -- in the holidays. Eyes were barely open and muscles were sore
0730 hrs. Saw the batch of Sec1s and 2s falling in in squad form, then split into the 8 tribes. My adrenaline was pumped, the excited and ecstatic expressions on those faces perked me up. Immediately, I grabbed onto the Buddie's Guide and zoomed to my group.
At first, they were like "Huh? Who is this? A random Sec3?" I hope that wasn't the case, but all my mind was concentrating on the various ways to make sure they enjoy this camp, and that it was fulfilling their expectations.
0800 hrs. The first briefing of the day. "The dancer"...I didn't expect that. It was meant to be a private hobby. "Migrated from Island Wangapore", my group was like "Ohh... the URA guy". Video was an interesting one, iMovie really is a good software for the com. Briefing was somewhat detailed, at least now they knew that THIS IS MADNESS CUZ' THIS IS WAR.
Group status at the moment: "Shy and unfamiliar".
0830 hrs. Ice breakers were carried out. Style of games was cool - War theme maintained. Games were a bit too subjected to a process called elimination, excluded those that were eliminated early, resulting in loneliness and left out. Best game was probably DodgeBall because in simplest terms to put, I love balls and games with balls included.
0900?? hrs. Mass Ice Breaker session ended, with gay couples finally being produced and born. Kidding. Resource Gathering, another individual group activity was carried out. First station "Paper through Hoops", game is somewhat cool, but dry run was cooler. Name could have been changed to "Fire in the Hole!!" though.
Next activity was Water Crisis. A fairly kind and caring station master who gave us chances to work together. If he had started whacking balls at us, I don't think the objectives of Unit Camp would have been achieved.
A very famous saying states:"Only through very hard times, do men lie their shoulders on each other and go through with them the good and bad times together". Otherwise, don't do it.
Many other activities were carried out. Finally after eating our rations and gathering our resources, we headed on designing our Flag and Uniform. Given the very limited resources that were provided(more specifically, many resources, but most of no use), we managed to produce a uniform of an above average standard and a flag, that signified the moral of our tribe/team, which was "One for All, All for One"
Wash up was the most interesting event ever. Stripped naked in the toilet and took a shower-Not in a cubicle but in the open. With Darren. I feel that we as HCI boys should treat each other as fellow comrades and not gay partners. So what if there are unsightly happenings or disturbing scenes? Even in a public swimming pool do people strip naked, and end up being called a brave person rather than a flasher.
After which was the Movie Screening. Hope it was an enjoyable movie that got into the mood for the Secondary 1s to proceed on to their SoloNite. I personally wasn't there for half the movie, but at the same time from the debrief that was ongoing, response from the cadets were quite enthusiastic and willing to cooperate with their "leaders".
Reflections for myself: Be a Buddy who has more initiative. Instead of sweeping my group to move faster at the back, lead them at the front with the encouragement they need. Although I was doing my best to get myself involved in the activities as much as possible, I guess I overdid it. Again, although my teammates did not complain, I personally felt sorry for not giving the chances to them to participate.
Goals for 2nd day: Ensure team is even more bonded together(which did eventually succeed right after the game Honor at Stake). Everyone has fun!!
DAY 2
The dawn started off with a morning jog, or should I say the most painful jog I ever experienced in my entire lifetime. The warmups, to me, were definitely not enough. All that was done was the stretching of muscles. How about the rib cage, lungs and stomach which were the most crucial organs for running?
Even if things go bad, I shall not falter and finally pulled myself through the run, with stopping on once.
