Famous Scientific Proven Experiments

Firstly, just to credit the SBS Exploration of Human Body-Super Junior Special programmes, these are what I learnt:
There are definite ways how to win a guy in arm-wrestling and weight-lifting.
1. Arm Wrestling

The best way is to get urself dizzy to the direction your hand is trying to hit the ground. By doin that, first create an elephant pose or stance, left hand hold nose while right hand resting on left arm. Then spin yourself anti-clockwise 10 times, after that straight away get on with the match and you will 80% or most of the time win him. However, if his strength is superior, this theory will not work.

Another way is do the Round and Round the Bush game. Ask some fellow mates to spin themselves anti-clockwise, then only you concentrate on them while ask your opponent to rest his eyes and keep his head downwards. Then also after about 4-5 rounds, straight away start and your strength would have mysteriously grown to be more powerful.

As for weight-lifting part, one way is to breathe in liquid ammonia, stinging to the nose and eyes, but waking up the senses. THen smack the guy's chin or cheeks many times, legs too, then in the correct stance and shout, it should be possible

If you are asking for something that can make you laugh, breathe in nitrous oxide, it calms the nerves and gives a pleasant feeling or drowsy for the inhaler, which then even if a small cold joke is being said, he would break down and fall on the ground, laughing like a maniac. But problem, it is rather difficult to achieve this in normal everyday lives, we need a laboratory.

I hope some other English shows, Singapore ones to show these experiments and bring its audience to greater heights. As said by the famous themepark or cartoon tycoon Walt Disney, "if you can dream it, you can do it" with that, I am going to eat.

Misunderstanding causes a huge embarassment

I saw a woman today, waiting at the covered bus-stop, she was flagging/waving her hand frantically to what it seemed calling for a taxi. Just then, a taxi from the fast lane, crossed to the bus stop to pick her up. But she did not move, she kept waving her hand, just then i saw behind me the bus stop, she was going for the bus. Oh man, what a poor taxi driver, having need to get the scoldings from the traffic and earn himself 1 less passenger just because of a woman's shortsightedness.

Like who would wave so climatically just for a bus, of course the big vehicle would see her, furthermore, it could be like seen miles away, she could have just waved as the bus approached the station not so far behind when so many taxis pass by.

Singaporeans embarassing behaviour should be refined to a more perfect level, where one knows the rules and feelings of others before acting. Moment of rashness should not be pardoned wherever and whenever possible.

Hey, I should post this on Stomp but I know it wouldn't cause much of a discussion as everyone would most likely disagree with me. Change subject today, I learnt a couple of new words in the dictionary- Jekyll and Hyde, Kleenex, Google, Youtube.

English is what seems a forever improving language, everyday new trademarks and words are formed and added to Longman. Haze is one new word definitely I learnt it means mocking someone and making fun of him, no more the usual smoke and unclearness caused by some hug forest fire or pollution nearby.

I also read that coin flips are flaws. The side which a guy is planning to have it land on, is most likely the starting position of the coin before it is thrown. Probability of that is more than 50%.
Ok, this is not real, i was just making an assumption.

This term sucks

There are many factors that explain why this term is going to be ridiculous.
1. Outward Bound Singapore
2. School Tests
3. Outward Bound Singapore
4. Outward Bound Singapore
5. Outward Bound Singapore
6. Outward Bound Singapore

Ok, well maybe there are only two. Outward Bound School is going to be fun and thrilling, but why am I all tensed up over it? It's because of a damn medical checkup. After no foreign objects coming in contact with my skin for two years already, my fear arrived.

I received a letter from OBS, that they required a medical checkup. Worser than that, I was to do it by next Tuesday, worse news, I just got the letter yesterday, Best of the worst news ever, I have to do it tomorrow.
Many people say it's no big deal, adapted from Yahoo answers : from that writer girl

I remember how nervous I was when I had my first blood test. Don't worry, everybody gets a little nervous but I know you'll be fine. Here is what I do: Find something to stare at on the wall, ceiling or floor, anything in the room... it could be a crack in the wall or a picture... When I had my first blood test I stared at the wallpaper, there were birds on it. So I just looked at that bird and before I knew it, it was over and I was fine! Tell your nurse that you're a little nervous and she'll be really careful and quick for you. Ask her to tell you when she's about to do it... It helps to be prepared. Here is what the nurse will do: She will take a rubber band and tie it on your arm just above your elbow. It feels a little weird but it won't last long! She will take a little alcohol swab to clean off the spot on your arm, it will probably feel cold. Then, she will let you know that it's time. You'll feel a little prick... it's sort of like a pinch, or getting pricked by a thorn.... actually it's not so bad. If you have ever used a needle and thread for sewing and accidentally stuck your thumb, it feels a little like that... but it won't itch or sting afterward because the needle will be clean and so will your arm! Anyway, it will probably take less than a minute to do the whole thing, (including the nurse's preparation.) When she is done, the nurse will put a nice clean cotton ball on the inside of your elbow and she'll fold your elbow "closed" so that you won't bleed. Then she'll come back and stick a band aid over the cotton ball and you'll be all done! Ask your Mom to take you out for your some kind of special treat for being so brave! I know your Mom will be proud and you should be too! The good thing about blood tests is that most people don't need to have them very often! It's good to get it out of the way though, all part of growing up I guess. Best of luck! Remember, just focus your eyes on something and try to distract your mind... think of your favorite song or pet, or any happy thought.

Lengthy but meaningful. Yeah everybody will surely get a blood test/ medical check up when they are Sec 3 for Outward Bound, but Sec 2, it's too early!

Secondly, tests.
I performed badly this term. I lost my confidence.
For Chinese, I got an A2, for English a B3, for Maths, currently B3, 27/40, oh man, i thought i could get 30! History and Geog, would probably fit the criteria for hardest tests on this whole year.

Out of the green, and into the blue, or wadever, I got to know a new song.
Really really really really really really really really really really really really really really catchy.

Numb

This happened a few days ago. I woke up, and was still almost halp-asleep in the air-con room, and then I suddenly touched a quite soft and almost tender object. I opened my eyes, only to discover I was touching my other hand. It was so numb, that I thought it had been amputated.

Yesterday, I went to the NDP 09 rehearsal. This year is definitely more exciting and nail-biting then the previous years. Cool videos and fun surprises especially the news report. It's realy cool , i hope it doesnt rain on the actual day.

The Sixth Sense

#1 Must-Watch Movie of All Time

The movie starts off with a psychologist Dr Malcolm Crowe, who encountered an unexpected visit from one of his ex-patients, who Crowe hasn’t been able to cure, and suffers from “hallucinations”.

The patient pulls out a gun and shoots Crowe in the stomach and then kills himself. A new scene opens, showing a small boy who also suffers from “hallucinations” and has a phobia everywhere he goes

As the story unravels, small boy Cole meets Crowe and soon finds him a worthy partner to share secrets with. He tells Crowe that he sees dead people walking everywhere, not sleeping, but right in his own house.

Cole sees a lot of dead people, at first all scaring him, and makes him hide in his tent full of spiritual things. He sees woman with a whole face scarred, a boy whose part of the head chopped off, and a girl vomiting right in his hiding place.

Crowe advises him to confront them and stop hiding, which Cole finally listens to the girl, and solves a mystery for her family, which was actually her mother who killed her by adding poison in her meals, which was left unsolved since the death of the girl.

At last Cole from then on, lived bravely and helped the dead, while Crowe discovers his ownself a ghost only Cole could see. And he thought he was alive all along. He discovers this when his wife kept shouting out husband’s name in her sleep, and a ring dropped out of her hand, not hers, but Crowe’s one. The “dead” Crowe however still has the ring on his finger.

He soon realizes everything when the TV kept repeating their wedding scene, and he remembers himself being shot and dying.

This is truly a great touching story. Although the effects of the 90s isn’t all so good, the way the story is portrayed is a real thriller. Hmm, wanna watch it, come to my house.

Unit Camp 2009

Day 1

We all arrived in our school early in the morning, filled of excitement and adrenalin to await the upcoming energy-packed activities organised for us. After falling in, we put our bags in our night rooms and proceeded with the icebreakers. As always, my unit had a poor start and of course the icebreakers were a huge disaster. Not given ample time to design a complicated flag and the games weren’t that fun either, just original Wacko and Curtain-.something. we still managed to know each other.

So after knowing each other and the NCOs, as far as i can remember, we headed for the first game- Human Table Soccer. Copyrighted from The Showdown’s Human Foosball, we basically were confined to one zone only, where we depended on each other to pass, and the front people to score.

After a hard and long battle, my team drawed and got a 5-5 result. Not bad as a start, after that we went to the other part of the school, at the Kah Kee hall side, and then went pumping position down, while one person is to answer a few questions, and we managed to get full marks thanks to some well-versed buddy we had.

Then onto our second activity, hmm, cant really remember, but there was the Impossible challenge, in the afternoon, and the straw passing thing, we must use straws in our mouth to pass rubber bands from start to finish, and blind man’s trail, blindfolded on a obstacle course, and then OYA, second, obstacle venture, some really tough obstacles not blindfolded and got full marks too.

Lunch was good, we had some appetizing economical rice in a packet, and then after that, was the dizzy herethere. Span around 10 times, dizzy and kept walking off where i was supposed to walk to. But was fun man! There was also Human snakes and ladders, which was kinda screwed, one step saying (GO FORWARD ONE STEP) , the step in front was however saying ( Go BACKWARD ONE STEP).

A few more activities, ate dinner and bunked in for the night.

Day 2

Ok, we woke up. that was fine. morning jog. horrendous. a jog around the whole Namly Avenue, ok at first we thought it was ok, so we jogged as a squad. Halfway, some were tired, and soon the whole squad was dispersed. and the teacher officer was pestering us not to walk. After finally thinking we’ve finished the course and started to cool down, the officer wanted us to run again AS a SQUAD, so be it.

We were bloody tired after that, didn’t have much of an appetite left for breakfast. Bread and Jam, hmm, actually it was quite nice, i ate 3 pieces with loads of jam on top. Then we set off to finish up the last of the team-building games. So we played Arrange and 120-pullup challenge. The facilitators showing favouritism towards their own teams, ended up giving us little points. Arrange, the facilitator gave realy hard puzzles and we had to arrange ourselves according to the expectation and took us a lot of time to move, and they were very picky, one little step out of the line causes 1 mark gone.

Nvm about that, soon was Table Tennis, where we were winning throughout, until I was to challenge a (self-proclaimed noob) Pro and lost causing us to lose, as that match was what 15 points?!? Ok, i think i put too much grumbling opinions inside, now facts. Ok, then we moved on to basketball, then captain’s ball, and at last, my favourite Soccer.

After all the sports, we headed for the BBQ nite. It was a disaster, when our group’s BBQ pit caught fire, and took a long time to BBQ food items, ending up not eating much. However the performances were rewarding, our group didn’t do very well, but neither the others.

Day 3

Another morning jog took place, but this time, we managed to run as a squad. Then at last, the wet activities drew near. Our group did the slide climbing thing, where we had to climb up a hill, under the constant attacking of water and soap. Finally finishing first, we were all drenched to the very most.

Then at last, it was somehow freetime, and i played water pouring with my friends. Getting soaked, we were cold but we were happy. Jonas caught a fever though. Then it was end.

We were dismissed. Although my group didn’t win any top placings, the happiness it brought was enough

Last Saturday

Well, it was a pretty normal sunday to everyone. The sun was shining, the grass were swaying, the crows were calling and the people were busy doing their stuff and hanging out.

I went to Hougang, where my cousin lives there. I brought my badminton racquets and shuttlecocks along. First, we started off cooling down at the house, watching some boring TVs and playing some cool kick-butt computer games.

Then we got bored, and went to the nearby Primary School badminton hall to play some exciting matches. But the courts were fully booked and we waited almost ages and still no courts available,

Reluctantly, we finally went to the outdoor court and played some good old rallies. First we started off by a 2v1 game, where my team thrashed the other. Then we were tired, and relaxed a little. Playing a more soothing game, me and Alvin flung the shuttle here and there, until we finally got a wonderful score of 96! No breaks, 1 consecutive run.

Dave, in the meantime, got us some water. And then finally the MOMs came down and asked us it was time up and to get back up. Just before we ate dinner, me and dave switched on the com and played PES 2008, which we didn't really do as well.

After the jovial day, we finally got ourselves to stick to the chair and eat quietly. Eating a feast of yummy and healthy food, I remembered about the day's events. Saturdays rock, Weekdays seldom rock.

My message to the audience is: Live your weekends to the fullest.

Term 2 History Notations

Ok. Before getting onto the main point, the format.

Inference: Remember you just have to talk about the major and minor details of the source do not use CK. remember we need more than 2 inferences

Reliability: Remember to first use source evidence, then use contextual knowledge, then it's purpose if it's a picture, (limited in reliability, biased but pls do not use the word) and include the audience to get full marks

Essay: First para state reasons second para explain first reason third para explain second reason. Make sure you read below for enough knowledge to have strong reasons, not weak. and link!!! last para indentify which one is most important which one not so. The main one.

Judgemental Essay: 1st para state the give factor, give ur own factors in other paras

First of all, we got to understand the system of the League Of Nations. Major pointers include: Participating countries, Weaknesses, the actions it did. That’s it. Most likely the question will be asking you on how it failed, and the causes of why it failed.

We have two big topics to talk about. Japan-Manchuria crisis,Italy-Abyssinia crisis. But remember all these are sub points to support the main point. Which are as follows

1. Major powers were not members.

  • The most powerful country USA did not join
  • Although WWilson was eager to join, he did receive good response from the US people and congress followed them. Many residents hated the TOV. German immigrants were afraid USA would instead squeeze reparations from Germany. Participating in the league would also mean needing to handle any disputes with their army. US people did not want anymore fatalities of their loved ones. They would also have to spend much money to solve any international problems regardless of cost. Like that, they could not be powerful. They wanted to be free, and not safeguard the colonies of F and B.
  • In sum, they did not want to be involved in future conflicts of Europe.
  • One example to prove this reason to the fall of LON, Japan-Manchuria crisis. Its strategies were ineffective.

Japan invaded Manchuria basically because of gaining resources such as raw materials and farmland to solve her economic problems. It was a good market, and a step of expansionism to build a overseas empire.

Manchuria applied to League for help. Sending the Lytton Commission, they found Japan’s action unlawful and asked them to retreat. Japan instead of following the plan, LEFT the league.

They could not use embargoes(economic sanctions) to negotiate with Japan. Such a measure was useless without a big trading partner like USA.

Other reasons also include refusal on part of main leaders. They had not strong enough armies and if there was a war, both armies would not benefit. All these go to- provoke Japan to be more aggressive-only thing was- US was even more powerful and could be more aggressive.

  • Many other countries also did not participate in the League enthusiastically, leaving F and B to be the only powers in charge. Italy left at 1937, Japan left at 1933, Japan joined at 1926, USSR joined at 1934.
  • B and F also did not participate. They had other priorities. B focused on reestablishing trade links and F in the league just to intimidate G by protecting herself in it.

2. Another reason was nature of its covenant. All League decisions had to be unanimous. This led to serious drawbacks.

  • There were the 4 major components of the League. The Assembly(member states), the Council(permanent seats by most powerful states), the Secretariat(administration organ), the World Court. Each had different views and thinkings on various situations.
  • The Council met the worst problems, since being the body of taking charge of major crisis that could have the potential of inviting war.
  • Since all covenants had to agree on one decision, which was aka VETO, when the League had promised to act quickly and with determination when a crisis really occurred, in many cases however, the League all had different takes, and took a rather long time to make decisions.
  • The need for all members to agree on a course of action undermined the strength of the League.

3. Last important reason was the lack of military power.

  • Many countries were asked to provide some troops for any emergency the LON handled. Aka international fighting force.
  • However many countries were unwilling to do so.

One example was Vilna. Both new states of Poland and Lithuania claimed the town of Vilna. Because it had been the capital of Lithuania for many years but was mainly inhabited by Poles. Lithuania applied League for help when Polish army seized the land in 1920.

League asked Poland to withdraw but they refused. Instead of thinking of another solution, they stopped taking action. According to covenant, it could have sent B&F troops to force out Poles in Vilna, but didn't because they were scared to upset Poland, being a potential helping hand for F to counter Germany. B wanted to be alone, and not send troops too far away and fight alone.

  • Without strong military power, the League was rendered useless as other countries that were involved in the war could easily ignore their decisions. Instead causing more trouble than help, making the league ineffective.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Second topic tested is the Rise of Nazi Party & the Fall of Weimar Government.
It can be sectored into 3 parts. One is Political reasons for the weakness of Weimar Government. Another is the Economic problems by the Weimar government. And the last, the effective actions done by the Nazi Party.
1a. Political reasons. Weimar Government lacked popular support.
  • Since its inception in 1919, it was not a popular government. It signed an armistice and most Germans therefore associated them with the defeat of Germany.
  • They regarded WG acceptance as a “stab-in-the back”, betrayal of the German people as they believed as long as they continued fighting, they would have won WWI.
  • Another tragic treatment they accepted was the TOV. It created more resentment against the Weimar Government.
  • This made them not able to establish control. The people did not trust them completely, thereby making it difficult for them to build support for their policies.
1b. Political reasons. System of proportional representation.
  • Parties obtained the same proportion of seats as their proportion of votes
  • The drawback of such a system tended to attract many parties as every party was guaranteed representation based on votes won. Since there were so many parties, it was difficult to establish a majority government and instead the formation of a coalition government.
  • Formed inherent weakness of League because the series of coalition governments that governed Germany only worked well enough when there was no major crisis
  • But when it came to a major crisis, there were the views of so many parties to consider
  • If one party disagreed on a decision, the decision could not be made as many parties who veto will lead the decision to be postponed until the parties agreed. But by then, it would be too late
  • Hence, this system would make decisions made very slow and the Weimar government cannot establish control.
1c. Political reasons. Faced constant opposition from its RW and LW groups.
  • The Weimar govt. faced revolts called putsches that weakened it further.
  • One was by the Communists called the Spartacists uprising in the 1919. By the workers, a group of communists and socialists attempted to control Berlin but failed and were eventually defeated.
  • Another was the Kapp putsch by the right wing fellows. In 1920, a group of ex-army officers led by Dr Kapp staged a revolt or general strike, which brought the whole city to a standstill.
  • Lastly Hitler also staged a revolt in 1923.
Hence, so many strikes that the Weimar government had to face and control, it was weakened physically and mentally. (Although some people started to support Weimar), they had faced a crisis in which their position was threatened and soon led to a weakness of the Weimar.
2. Economic reasons. Ruhr Crisis. 1923.
  • When the Weimar delayed paying reparations in 1922, France(also having war debts to pay) was angry and retaliated by invading Ruhr, in Germany, where there were raw goods and materials, in exchange.
  • The workers in Ruhr were also angry. They reacted with a strike, causing a collapse in production which caused inflation of prices of goods skyrocket due to the low supply.
  • Weimar made a mistake of printing more money, in order to pay reparations, and to cope with the crisis. Soon-hyperinflation.
  • As said earlier, there was a drastic fall in the value of the German mark. 4 marks=1 dollar to 4200M=1dollar
  • This exposed the ineffectiveness of Weimar in dealing with economic crisis, especially when the lower class suffered the most from fixed savings, hence driving the disillusioned masses to shift their support to other rival parties, especially Nazi-in its campaign to improve economic conditions
Economic reasons. Great Depression. 1929s
  • USA encountered the stock market crash in 1929, compelling the  US to call back loans. Affected German businesses greatly, many workers lost their job.
  • 1928 1.8 million Germans were unemployed but rose to 6 mill in 1932.
  • The government cut employees’ salaries by 23%
  • reduced unemployment benefit
  • raised taxes
  • People almost cannot recover.
-impact of this convinced German public that Weimar would only worsen not improve their lives and had to be replaced with one more intent on improving welfare of the people, like what Nazi had.
Nazi reasons. Propaganda.
  • Basically to develop mass support
  • Under Goebbels, the Nazi party launched a massive campaign and used every available medium to reach masses. eg. books, posters, radio, films, rallies.
  • Hitler was also a great campaigning asset. He was a powerful speaker who conveyed the right messages to what the German people were suffering then. Working tirelessly, he took a hectic tour all over Germany.
  • he was astute enough to realize that the most effective way to convince the masses was to appeal to their emotions, and not just their sense of reason so he highlighted the aim to abolish TOV, with a sole aim to make Germany powerful again.
  • Such ideas spread and became publicized quickly, thereby improving the image of the party and allowing it to develop into becoming a mass-party.
ONE nice quote by Goebbels, he said if the lie is repeated a lot, people will be convinced that it will be the truth.
Nazi reasons. Disillusion with democracy.
  • German peoples’ dislike for democracy (shared dislike) because
  • People will all unfamiliar with democracy, and that it was new to them, no tradition on it, they were always under a central control-Kaiser.
  • Democracy did not appear a good thing especially in the Great Depression, where the democratic system did not seem suited to dealing with the problems.
  • The right wing parties were totally against democracy and strongly liked totalitarianism.
  • Such meant that it was easier for other countries like Nazi to discredit the policies of the Weimar governmentm thereby gaining more influence among the people
Nazi reasons. Fear of Communism.
  • Especially for the case of middle-class business owners and industrialists who feared that the Communists because of their plans to introduce state control of business. ( All men are equal )
  • This would affect the growing strength of Germany’s trade unions.
  • Believing that Nazi could change the situation, they sponsored Nazi even though they did not totally like their policies.
  • Aside from the upper-class, the farmers were also alarmed by the Communists. SOVIET UNION-government took over all of the land. Nazi also promised to help DESPO STRUGGLING FARMERS.
  • Such fear of Communism meant it was easier for right-wing parties like the Nazis to gain credibility since the Nazis regarded them as the lesser of 2 evils. (compared to communists)
Mass DVD business
Hello everybody, I’m using Windows Live Writer for the first time to post this post. So, while I’m with all the revising and reading, i am also uploading some of the concert DVDs and movies in my iPod. So what are my favourite dvds?
2. Mika-Live In Cartoon Motion DVD
3. Barry Manilow-Songs from the seventies DVD
4. Take That-Beautiful World DVD
5. Michael Buble-Caught In the Act
6. Josh Groban- something Greek.
Yeah, that’s all. This post isn’t anything useful. But in a few hours, get ready for some heart-wrenching, love-boosting, cosy and sweet, detailed and analysed, smmarised and straight on the point notes. And expect some Geography too.
Update
Due to unpopular demand, i shall post on this blog.
Hello.
I am from Space.
I am a Martian
I like to drive
I eat hamburgers
I work for a living
Mars is not my homeland
I am not an alien
I do not drop from the sky
Burger King is not my favourite
I work in Burger King
I am random
All I have said are false
However false can turn true
With a twist of fate
Three tests have gone. Actually more than that. But the depression has hit great. Literature, little man struck the Earth, Maths, Chinese, and English dropped Fat Man down too. Nah, it wasn't that bad. It was just a twist in a turn that caused this mindset in me.
Anyway Mr Balan's vocabulary not bad. His blog is like full of interesting words that I have never seen before. Also a lot of expressions in it. Shall not say more.
Ok, my iTunes has 375 songs. That's quite a new record, after maintaining the long streak of 270+ songs. Although some songs have been acquired for personal use, by the many places in this data explosion. Most of them are from CDs, which are almost all the albums of my favourite singers such as Mika, Barry Manilow, Take that, Hillsong United, LMNT etc.
Ok, i also seriously think that I'm trying to lengthen this post by posting really unrelevant stuff related to my life. Songs has been something that has greatly affected me. I learn morals from it, although most songs nowadays talk about love. Then, it has also greatly improved my languages and the ability to analyse for lit and history.
A new goal for myself: Planning early>Hurrying late.
Spam Homework
I would like to begin with this:
Homework cos it just feels like that term has just started. I spent the whole of the 3 day holiday completing my homework. Why? Because there's just too much too do. First Maths assignment which i mistakenly done everything, then Literature Ralph characterization, then English feature article, and now My Maths Redo everything assignment and the MUG of maths test.
In this post, it's just to remind myself that the topics tested: Making x the subject etc Algebraic Manipulation, Indices Power of, And of course Coordinate Geometry, my best scoring subject. Well then, i seem to be rather thrifty, only after i use finish something, do i change it. I don't prepare in advance. Hmmm, gotta change this kind of lazy attitude. WOw, this paragraph is one whole chunk, let me press Enter twice
Well done boy. I ransacked my computer room and found something i have lost for like 2 years. My PES 5 and of course, my Passion Card, it hasn't expired yet, so well, spend it on activities! Just for note, Google Chrome when used slows my whole computer down, and my internet is spoilt. Now without it, and only IE, my com zooms like a flash. Hillsong United Rocks!Q!
Good Friday
On the good night of Good Friday Eve, which was about 11pm, the sky was bright, the sun had not set yet, the moon was shining bright to the people on Earth. Suddenly a cloud appeared, and was travelling quite fast, in the middle was a bright red patch. I could sense God's presence, i looked out of the window and watched the cloud pass by my house. It was a wonderful sight.
Then, on Good Friday itself, I felt especially happy. In the morning, we went to so-called do some chingminging, then in the afternoon, I went to cousin's house, first eating lunch with my cousin at the market near my house. The weather was beautiful, rain looked like falling, but the clouds stood there, blocking the Sunlight and the heat from the fellow Singaporeans. Ok, so I went to 二姨 house then, and my cousin had bought a PSP. So played GTA Liberty City and Naruto, shall not say more. Then we drove the a steamboat coffee shop. Tasty, we ate and ate and ate. I loved the cereal from the prawns, the soup from the steamboat, the meat from the claypot, the beancurd in the delicious gravy, so on. At last, came the climax, the competition named "Who eats the most BBQ chicken wings" with Alvin, my cousin again.
Eat and eat and eat, we were full. So the game ended and what's the score. Weng Shern 8-7 Alvin. Therefore, the winner for this lame competition - WS. As I'm typing this descriptive timeline, i'm drinking honey-suckle tea, sweet yet bitter. It expresses my feelings today, happy it's a saturday, bitter that i still have homework.
Finally , i want to say my last 2 words as an official ending of this post: The End. Under my unofficial part, i'm off to burn the disc of my mixed classics and hits! Yeah
Consideration
2 days ago, we had an assembly where our level DC, mrs chan talked to us about basic courtesy on trains and buses. she had a hard time finding a seat, whenever she walked to one, it was always being coped by a faster man.
Well, i saw the same thing on the train yesterday, what an inconsiderate brat. PRIORITY SEAT, a man had just left the train at Lavendar and another guy was coming in. An old man, who had been on the train for a long time, was making his way to the seat. the other young a-holed-up man just took the seat like nobody's business, and sat, pretending that he hadnt look around.
I was going to help, but the man, looking established but fierce, making my mind move to second thought, where i decided to xiu shou pang guan. but next time i'll definitely confront this kind of ignorant kiasuists.
Go CCM and malay. hear jonas's oone and have a good laugh. sounds like a perfect robot, symbolistically, like one who reads with no emotions and expressions.
Disclaimer
Note: Science research has proven that there is no evidence or theories that male singers with high voices are gays or mistakenly said to be a woman. Please get this straight on how to differentiate a man and woman's voice, if u are MUSICALLY TALENTED, it is recognisable by the obvious or sometimes not so obvious breaking of the voice. Mika is one example, he has a high voice, that should be said to be gay, but ONE THAT IS UNIQUE, none of us can ever imitate, and of course the songs he composes is so good!
For me, i find that man with deep singing voices like Rick Astley, is very matured, for matured audiences only, like u will be bored after a while if u just LISTEN, making you have to SING urself to keep urself alive. Being in the 60s era, the music videos are once again dance and singing in front of the mike, in front of the wall, not much technology and creativity then. Anyway, im young and prefer young voices, dont't tell me ur voice hasn't been high once.
Tomorrow i'm definitely going to sing a Mika song in front of my cousins for one so called engagement, cos I feel it is a child's way of interpretating marriage and love the innocent way, everything is perfect, just like the Coral Island.
Onto another topic, i just downloaded a cheats database, from now on I'll rule the games thru stormy seas, dense forests, tall skyscrapers, quantitative iPods, circular toilet bowls, over babies weeping, and i don't even know what i'm talking about. Anyway, so, i wanna make a song, here's the lyrics:
Who's your neighbour?
during the day
she's a full time typist
at the computer
and on the phone
during the day
he's a auto-mechanic
punchin' a time clock
and livin' alone
but at night
in the dark
when the sun goes down
yes at night
night is when they
go to town!
and they dance
and she fells like
Ginger Rogers
they dance!
he's got the flair
of Fred Astaire
they dance!
as they glide
around the ballroom
they dance!
and the world
belongs to them
when they dance!
nobody knows that
she has this secret
none of her family
would ever connect
all of his pals think
he's shy and quiet
not in the world would
they ever suspect
that at night
in the dark
when the sun goes down
yes at night
night is when they
go to town
and they dance!
he's as cool as
John Travolta!
they dance!
she's as hot as Janet J.!
they dance!
as they glide
around the ballroom
they dance!
they forget about the day
when they dance!
and they dance!
he's Antonio Banderas
they dance!
she's Ann Miller
on the screen!
they dance!
now the crowd
is cheering louder
they dance!
and the night
is like a dream
when they dance!
Nah, just kidding, these are the lyrics to Barry Manilow's They Dance! song. I quite like it, u won't get the tune until u get the words!
My Results & An Interesting Event
Yay, i'm quite satisfied with my results this term. But I will have to work harder next term to get a MSG of >2.00
English-B4
Chinese-B3
Maths-C6
Science-B3
Literature-A2
AEP-A1
Infocomm-A1
Humanities-A2
Overall MSG- 2.75
My OP isn't that good yet
Last night, i went to a restaurant in East Coast Park called Waraku, when i got really fed up. At first, i witnessed a car dispute. There was a lane that led to KFC drive-thru , which one taxi instead was going the opposite direction, other cars were preparing to enter the drive-thru lane when the taxi driver kept asking them to f their relatives and ask them to back off, there was one car, driving at a quite fast speed, in an attempt to avoid hitting the taxi, instead ran over a kerb, and the whole car was like balancing on the kerb, off the ground. Luckily, one ang moh woman and man, took down the taxi's car plate number and helped to direct the car back on the road, which the car took in quite a lot of damages at its bottom or under it. When it started and tried to brake, the whole car served, obviously having taken some damage on its brake from its forced reversing.
Then it was almost our table number to be called, 1 more, which took a damn bloody long 1 hour. I kicked the building, and littered on the ground, took off its signboards, totally pissed off with the customers taking their own bloody sweet time to eat. I bet they took 40 minutes just to eat an egg. Finally our turn came, and got to eat a satisfying meal.
Funnest NPCC yet
First of all, all tests are over, i feel so relieved.
Npcc, at first was arms drill when we made a record having a smiley face for a signature, and one guy breaking 2 rifles, and i dun mean just one part, the whole thing, it was like it was being dismantled.
Then it came to PT, where we got some tiring npcc changing parade, then we ran, and i and jonas and darren led the cheers, or if anybody didn hear me. Then on the way home, listened to my iPod, wow the games are so fun, best of all, the music is more interactive and clear and high-qualitied than ever.
History Last Minute Revision
History test format
Inference: Remember you just have to talk about the major and minor details of the source do not use CK. remember we need more than 2 inferences
Reliability: Remember to first use source evidence, then use contextual knowledge, then it's prupose if it's a picture, (limited in reliability, biased but pls do not use the word) and include the audience to get full marks
Essay: First para state reasons second para explain first reason third para explain second reason. Make sure you read below for enough knowledge to have strong reasons, not weak. and link!!! last para indentify which one is most important which one not so. The main one.
First of all, we need to know about the causes of World War I
1. Weltpolitik ( a.k.a German expansion/ Colonial Rivalry )
   -Germany's aim to become a world power and should have overseas colonies like what Britain had, which was Australia, many parts of asia.
   -Kaiser Wilhelm adopted this aggresive foreign policy
   -Made clear to Europe it's expansionism ambitions
   -Other European powers saw it as an increasing threat
   -Talk about moroccan crisis-
        -Germany already had colonies in south and central africa
        -Wanted control over the north
 -Britain saw it as a large threat, and threats to their colonies. Germany in MorocanCrisis intervened in what was considered a French sphere of influence, demonstrated how far the Kaiser was willing to go to gain new territories
___-Therefore/Hence led the rest of the Western powers to regard germany as an aggressive power, thereby driving them to direct their forces at Germany, eventually leading in war.
Another cause for war was the
     - Arms Race ( can also be considered as land and navy(Anglo-german naval race))
     -The existence of large armies was threat to peace
     -Based on the rationale that the best defence against any hostile power was to have a strong enough army to repel any invasion.
     -1900-1914, European powers increased the size of their armies and reserves, doubled their spending, almost every major power had an army of conscripts.
     [-France increased their forces in 1914 had an army of nearly 4 million
     [-Russia passed a series of military reforms to strengthen its army and spent a fortune on [Military railways to transport Russia troops to fight Germany
    [-Such an increase in the arms race contributed to the outbreak of world war 1, as it increased [tension and had a snowball effect, when one power increased strength, others wild follow suit.
    -(EXTRA INFO: France(3.5 million) and russia's army(4.4 million) including reserves was almost as big as Germany's (8.5 million) itself, made Germany worry as they were considered to have the biggest and best army. Russia's army including reserves was the fastest growing army of the lot)
   -Hence, the arms race on land is a cause since countries, in their efforts to keep up each other's armed strength, became militarily ready. This made war likely since each power was confident of being able of defending or defeating the other.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anglo-German Naval race (a.k.a Arms race on navies)(a.k.a Anglo-German relations)
   -Britain had the best and most powerful navy in Europe, which ruled the seas without any challenge
   -Kaiser Wilhelm II announced his intention to build a strong navy which he called the High Seas Fleet.
(if question is why is germany responsible for war, Germany decision to compete with Britain for naval supremacy leading to Anglo-German naval race that soured relations)
   -Britain felt threatened, Germany's navy was very much smaller than Britain's but the Britain's navy was spread all over the world, portecting the British Empire. Germany did not have much of an empire(refering to overseas la), no reason for a big navy, felt they wanted to challenge Britain
  -In 1906, Britain raised the stakes in the naval race by launching HMS Dreadnought, the first of a new class of warships (predominant type of 20th century warships)
  -Germany responded by building its own "Dreadnoughts", the Nassau Class to the "all-big-gun" British Dreadnoughts.
  -there was a race between Germany and Britain to build the most Dreadnoughts, the naval race was well and truly on and both Britain and Germany spent millions on their new ships.
ANSWER 1    -Hence, Anglo German Naval Race was a cause for war since, when more navies kept on increasing in size and power, countries was have the confidence to fight in the seas, victorious, this made war likely. too
OR OR OR OR OR
ANSWER 2    -Hence, Anglo German Naval Race was a factor to prove that Germany was not a friend of Britain because...
Another reason for war was
3. Schlieffen Plan
   - Allowed Germany to avoid a war on both the western and eastern fronts.
   - Before it, Germany was hesitant to declare war, could not fight Russia and France at the same time
   - It was therefore designed to get Germany out of this predicament and ensure a quick victory.
   - it was simple but risky, Germany would attack through Belgium, for Alsace-Lorraine was heavily fortified with French Plan 17, and to Paris, to defeat France in six weeks,
then turn their forces to Russia which they thought Russia to be slow to mobilise and prepare their troops for war.
   -Hence, the Schlieffen Plan caused WWI, since in being an offensive strategy based on launching an attack on France and Russia, the plan was set in motion the armies of the most powerful Western powers making a world war inevitable/
4.Balkan Crisis
   - Russia and Austria wanted control over the Balkan aread as it gave them access to the Meditaranean.
   -In 1908, Austria took over the provinces of Bosnia and Herzegovina
   -Russia and Serbia protested, but backed down when Austria received the backing of Germany.
   -With this, Austria felt too confident, encouraged it to make more trouble with '' ''.
   -Russia in 1909 resented being faced down, quickened its arms and was determine to not back down again.
   -1912-13, was a series of local wars, Serbia emerged as one of the most powerful country in the Balkans.
   -Austria-worried, Serbia had gone too strong and had to be dealt with, and it was a close ally for Russia. Austria in 1914 had to come up with an excuse to crush Serbia.
   -Chance came with the Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary
   -Austria gave them a 10-point ultimatum when Serbia refused, Austria declared war on Serbia.
   -Hence, Balkan crisis caused WWI, since when Austria declared war on Serbia, it would bring in all the other western powers, they were bound by their respective alliances to defend their allies.
----------------------------------------------------------------
TREATY OF VERSAILLES
1.Territorial
  -Major blow to German pride, and to its economy
  -Germany lost all it's overseas colonies in Africa, in the Pacific and the Middle East
  -Lost the following
      -Eupen-Maldemy to Belgium
      -Northern Schleswig to Denmark
      -Upper Silesia only be given a part
      -West Prussia to Poland even though it contained many Germans
      -Saar, an important industrial area to League of Nations
      -Alsace-Lorraine returned to France
   -While Germany was losing land, France and Britain were increasing their empires, expanding their empires and taking up other colonies and territory like German, Turkish, African and Middle East.
2.Military
   - reduced to 100000 men, size cannot be increased thru conscriptions and all soldiers had to be volunteers.
   -Navy-15000 men, 6 battleships and some smaller ships
   -No submarines, tanks or airplanes
   -Rhineland was demilitarized, no german troops were allowed into this area next tot the French border
   -allies were to keep an army of occupation on the west bank of the Rhine for 15 years.
   -The rest of Europe did not disarm to taht extent that germany has been made to, the size of 100000 not adequate to defend a country of Germany's size thereby making her vulnerable.
3. Economic
   -Germany was made to pay reparations that is compensation for the war damage she had caused. Huge amount-pounds 6600 million which would take her 50 years to compensate, even if she did so in installations. All profits from Saar which were once hers made from coal production would go the France for 5 years.
   -Germany believed it was too severe, she was already economically unstable. She was basically stripped off the financail means to recover. Moreover, such a large sum was over and above the damage she inflicted. She felt it was vengeful, other countries were taking revenge on her, meant to cripple her economically
Last day of the "schoolingweek"
Happiest but hardest day of the week tomorrow Friday. Geography test tomorrow which i;m gonna mug rite after i post this, i dun think it'll be that hard la. More concerned about History, going to make my class proud by aiming for an A for History. In the afternoon is NPCC, where what else, sec 2s have to do drills almost every training, no other sports stuff or campcraft. Sec 3 life would be easier i hope, not in terms of the study topics but the amount of homework.
I'm feeling quite down, haven't been able to do any ACE opportunities, everyday either stay back for cca/aep or got much homework to accomplish. I got an A2 for chinese, half a mark more to get A1, but nvm, i'm going to work hard for the Maths test next week, to enusre i got an A1 and A for history and B for science, cos' i am no good in biology. I know my thoughts in the his post are like contradicting as u read to here.
Well, here's something to end it off.
A funny joke.
referring to maths assignment papers.
Person A(1st person):Must Staple Together?
Person B(2nd person who 1st person is talking to):Must Stay Back Together?
Person C(Overheard the conversation): Masterbed together?
Inspiration
Hi, today when i received my maths retest paper, i failed and felt quite down. 15/35 3 more marks to pass. And I have wasted them on careless mistakes unaware of the missing out of squares and roots when factorising. But then on the same day, I had my chinese test, it said life would only be better when we meet difficult situations and try harder to strive and overcome it. So Jonas has inspired me to work hard, not to stay glued on the com all day, but taking the first few hours of time at home, sit down at the dining room, and finish up all my homework, revise for test, and better do the homework way before the deadline. So i got up, there was 1 last hope for me, one last maths test for the term and i have to get a B3 or a good B4 to pass the term. I will try my hardest to revise thru the weekends instead of playing, make use of time to read thru my textbook andthe 2 worksheets cos i noe, this is my one and only last chance. Algebraic Manipulation, Expansion and Factorization here i come!
Summarising up my life
Anyway to start off, the new zealand trip was fantastic. Did u know that the Disudo Gang originated from New Zealand? formed by me and my cousin there. Then I came back and OMG full of homework and tests nearing.
I;ve done the homework part now left with the preparing for my unpreparedness of the test. Is this blog dead? So called, cos I will only continue posting when I;m free, maybe during the March Holidays.
So I've gone for the badminton sabbatical huh? Not bad, I love it. At least some fun besides all the subject learning sabbatical and Napfa. Quite excited, the requirements say we need to bring our own badminton racket/racquet. So I;m going to buy a good one, Wilson would be best- Yonex too ex.
AEP done drawing, will post up the video of my 3D Animation Design Car and you will admire it, or just watch it and enjoy, even though it may suck. My handphone is now more wrecked than last time, a new crack has appeared! Going to change my blog header soon. I hate being random. But as it is, I;m doing it rite now.
My mum still in NZ, gonna miss her, and hard to study algebra or revise without her "tuition". Be prepared for a hectic life S2. Enjoy.
i mean --the end-- and make the best out of everything and ya make the best out of everything!
